The Birthplace Cottage and Memorial Hall tell the fascinating story of Andrew Carnegie the weaver's son who became King Steel and the greatest benefactor of his time. New audio presentation in the Birthplace Cottage also available in reception with photo album for visitors with mobility difficulties. An established artist owned gallery, showing changing exhibitions by contemporary artists and craftworkers, including new paintings by the resident artist Jan Fisher. Pittenweem is known for its artistic community, small galleries in the famous Arts Festival in August.

The museum of The University of St Andrews will open in summer 2008 displaying artifacts from an exiting collection that has been almost 6 centuries in the making.

PITTENCRIEF HOUSE MUSEUM - Pittencrief park, Dunfermline.
A 17th century house transformed into a museum by Robert Lorimer when Andrew Carnegie gave Pittencrief Park to Dunfermline in1903. Fully accessible ground floor gallery tells of dinosaurs, fossils and furry animals as well as the human history of the Park.
SCOTTISH FISHERIES MUSEUM - St Ayles, Harbourhead, Anstruther.
The Scottish fishing industry from the earliest days up to the present. Model and actual boats, fishing gear and life sized models of fisher folk and many fine paintings. 4 Star Museum. Ramped throughout from street level and disabled toilet.
SCOTTISH VINTAGE BUS MUSEUM - M90 Commerce Park, Lathalmond, by Dunfermline.
Possibly the UK's largest collection of historic buses, dating from the 1920's to 1980's. See beautifully restored buses in the exhibition hall and restoration projects in the workshops. Steam railway locomotive shed now open. Souvenir shop and cafe. Disabled toilet facilities and car parking. Follow signs from M90 (junction 4).
SHORELINE STUDIOS - 2 Shore Road, Aberdour.
Original artworks including paintings, prints, jewellery, stained and fused glass, ceramics and cards. A picture framing service is available. Access able for wheelchairs.
ST ANDREWS MUSEUM - Kinburn Park, Doubledykes Road, St Andrews.
