See and listen to the story of the City of Dunfermline, Fife and scotland. Have a light lunch in the cafe, browse in the shop or relax in the garden. 4 star historic house. Disabled parking, disabled toilets, access to ground floor only, video displays.
 ABERDOUR CASTLE - Aberdour.
Built by the Douglas Family in the 13th century. The interior boasts a fine painted ceiling and gallery giving an idea of how it was finished at the time. Delightful walled garden. Reasonable Access to ground level for wheelchairs.
 BALMERINO ABBEY - The National Trust for Scotland.
Ruins of a Cistercian Monastery, founded in 1229. Visitors cannot enter the buildings, but can view from the grounds which contain an ancient Spanish chestnut tree - one of the oldest in the country.
 CULROSS PALACE / STUDY / TOWN HOUSE. - The National Trust for Scotland.
Glimpse Scottish domestic life of the 16th and 17th centuries among Culross's cobbled streets. Refurbished Palace and Gardens, Study and Townhouse. Exhibition, video, tearoom and shop. 4 star historic house, disabled toilet & access to exhibition and ground floor of Palace.
 DUNFERMLINE ABBEY AND PALACE - St Margaret Street, Dunfermline.
The last resting place of many Scottish Kings and Queens. The remains of the great Benedictine Abbey, founded in the 11th century by Queen Margaret, lie beneath the superb 12th century Romanesque style nave. Access for Abbey nave and church, limited to Palace and Refectory.
 FALKLAND PALACE AND GARDEN - The National Trust for Scotland, Falkland, by Cupar.
This stunning Palace has a superb history and is set in a gorgeous garden. There are lots of special events throughout the year and it's also home to the world
's oldest tennis court!!. Gift shop and exhibition. 4 star historic attraction. Ramp into garden and garden wheelchair available.

 HILL OF TARVIT MANSIONHOUSE AND GARDEN - The national Trust for Scotland, by Cupar.
Fine Edwardian Mansion built by Sir Robert Lorimer. Contains superb French Scottish and Chippendale furniture and paintings by Raeburn and Ramsay, Edwardian laundry, delightful garden, tearoom and gift shop. 4 star historic house. Front door ramp to ground floor rooms,toilets and wheelchair available.

 INCHCOLM ABBEY - Inchcolm Island.
David's priory here became an Abbey in 1235. Now the best preserved group of monastic buildings in Scotland and famed for its wildlife. Daily sailings from South Queensferry on the Maid of the Forth, shop, display area, all gardens and the ground floor of the Abbey are accessible. Disabled toilets on visitor centre ground floor. Boarding and leaving the ferry may be difficult for wheelchair users.
 KELLY CASTLE & GARDEN - The National Trust for Scotland, nr. Pittenweem.
A superb and some say haunted, 14th century castle. There's a fabulous Victorian nursery and kitchen and a shop and tearoom too! All set in a beautiful walled garden. 4 star historic house. Access to ground floor of castle & garden. Wheelchair available.
 PAN HA' - Dysart.
17th century fisher houses restored by the National Trust for Scotland.
 SCOTSTARVIT TOWER - Ceres.
Situated 3/4 mile west of Hill of Tarvit Mansionhouse, this fine tower was known to have existed in 1579. Keys held at Hill of Tarvit Mansionhouse.
 ST ANDREWS CASTLE - The Scores, St Andrews.
Once the main residence of the Bishops and Archbishops of St Andrews. See the fascinating mine and counter mine, rare examples of medieval siege techniques, and the bottle dungeon hollowed out of solid rock from which death was the only release. 4 star Castle. Disabled toilet, access to visitor centre, ground floor of castle and castle gardens.
 ST ANDREWS CATHEDRAL - The Pounds, St Andrews.
The remains still give a vivid impression of the scale of what once was the largest cathedral in Scotland. It's Museum houses a collection of medieval sculpture. Climb St Rule's Tower for a magnificent view of the Town. Grounds and most of the visitor centre are accessible. St Rules Tower not suitable for visitors with physical disabilities.
 ST ATHERNASE CHURCH - Leuchars, St Athernase.
12th century Romanesque building of outstanding architecture containing significant historical features, yet still in use as the Parish church. Disabled access.
 ST FILLAN'S CAVE - Pittenweem.
The cave whose name is featured in the village's name, Pittenweem (the place of the cave). St Fillan, celtic saint and preacher stayed here. The monks used it to store their boats and later smugglers were arrested here and their execution triggered the Porteous riots in Edinburgh in the 18th century. Restored in 1935 it is now a place of pilgrimage.
 ST MARGARET'S CAVE - Chalmers Street Car Park, Dunfermline.
I
n the late 11th century, St Margaret Queen of Scotland used to pray in this cave. It was originally on the banks of the Tower Burn - but it is now 87 steps below car park. 3 Star Visitor Attraction. Not suitable for people with physical disabilities, however a book explaining the cave with illustrations is available at cave entrance.
 ST MONAN'S WINDMILL - St Monans.
The windmill tower which lies on the Fife Coastal Path is a scheduled ancient monument. It is part of the St Monans saltpans industrial complex dating from the 18th century. 3 Star Visitor Attraction.
